Waitrose mulls bid for Iceland stores

Mark Price, managing director of up-market grocery chain Waitrose, yesterday admitted that his firm would look at buying some of Iceland's frozen food centres, but ruled out a bid for the entire business.

Last month officials responsible for winding up failed Icelandic bank Landsbanki started an auction for a 67 per cent stake in frozen food specialist Iceland.
