Stepmother murder trial is delayed

AN American accused of killing his Scottish stepmother had his trial delayed while experts evaluate his mental health.

David Brannan, 21, is alleged to have stabbed to death Tracy Brannan, originally from Hamilton, at the family home in Omaha, Nebraska, in July. His trial was due to begin yesterday but the case was put back several months for reports.
