Adams hopes inside knowledge can help Hibs break Inverness hoodoo

DEREK ADAMS believes that his inside knowledge of Inverness could help Hibs break their hoodoo when they travel to the Caledonian Stadium this weekend.

The Easter Road side haven't won in Inverness since they made it into the SPL but new Hibs assistant manager Adams reckons his knowledge of Terry Butcher's management style could help give them the edge this time around.

Former midfielder Adams played under Butcher when he was manager of Motherwell and, for the last four years, has worked just along the road from this weekend's opposition as manager of First Division Ross County. That has allowed him to keep a close eye on Caley's progress, their playing style and the threat players like Eric Odhiambo may pose.

Adams knows all about Hibs' record in the Highlands of late but says he can help manager Colin Calderwood put that statistic to bed, saying: "We need to stop talking about it and go and do it.

"It's about going there and winning another football match, it doesn't matter where the game is. It is up in Inverness but there are three points at stake against a team that are doing very well.

"But I am sure the Hibernian players will be confident, they have come off the back of a tremendous result against Rangers and a great performance against Motherwell.

"I have a vast knowledge of Inverness, I know their style of play and I know their management team inside out.

"I hope that we can use that to our advantage this weekend."
