Snooker: Leslie eases to opening win

Michael Leslie from Bonnyrigg and fellow Scot Robert Carlisle both made perfect starts in the group phase of the 2010 World Under-21 Snooker Championships in Letterkenny, Ireland.

Leslie, 17, won a close first frame against Israel's Danni Bismoot before making an 81 break to go 2-0 in front. Leslie needed a 35 clearance to win the third on the black before seeing out the last frame for a comfortable 4-0 victory. Glasgow's Carlisle, 19, eased to a 4-0 victory over Maor Shalom, also of Israel. Carlisle finished off with a 71 break in the final frame to secure his victory.

Rhys Clark (East Kilbride) defeated Mohamed Ibrahim Aly (Egypt) 4-0. However, Campbell Dunlop (Kilmarnock) lost out 4-3 against Ireland's Greg Casey in his opening match.
